Our aim is to provide a peaceful and welcoming setting for clients and their animals, our patients, where cardiorespiratory disease is diagnosed and treated effectively with minimal stress. In contrast to many other specialist centres, Ivy Court is a small and personal practice where attention can be paid to one animal at a time. This reduces distraction and apparent threat from other animals to a minimum, enabling them and their owners to relax at a time that otherwise could be very stressful.
Owners are encouraged to be with their animals for as many of the diagnostic procedures as possible. This is reassuring for animals and owners alike, and helps owners to understand more fully about the conditions affecting their animals. We find this approach to be very rewarding; even nervous animals, including many cats, have been known to fall asleep during heart scans. This has the beneficial effect of lowering the heart rate so that information is obtained more easily and is more accurate.
The practice is well equipped with top quality equipment and our facilities include separate dog and cat kenneling for “out-patient” short stays and the rare cases that require critical care and longer term hospitalisation.
